Cologne Piano Trio – Biography

The trio regularly performs in European major cities as well as in Brazil, Japan and Korea.
Besides, the trio plays at international music festivals, such as the Flandern Festival, the Carinthian Summer, the Osaka Festival and the “Berliner Festwochen”.
Well-known contemporary composers like Dieter Salbert, Violetta Dinescu, for instance, dedicate their works to the Cologne Piano Trio, which performs them at international festivals.
Since 2003 the musicians have a close collaboration with the famous polish composer Krzysztof Meyer, who plays the piano part of his piano trio in their mutual project “Meyer and Schubert”.
The greek composer Stelios Coucounaras has transcribed Brahms’ “Liebeslieder-Walzer” op. 65 for the Cologne Piano Trio and four soloists of the “Bayreuther Festspiele”. The world premiere took place at Villa Wahnfried in Bayreuth in summer 2002.
